Ford Transit Connect Finance
Finance the compact van in the Transit family through your business. New and used Connect models, diesel and plug-in hybrid. New businesses and complex credit histories considered.

The Transit name usually brings the big vans to mind, but the Transit Connect has quietly been one of Britain's favourite small vans for over twenty years. It gives urban trades, couriers, and mobile businesses the practicality of the Transit family in a footprint that parks anywhere, and the latest generation is the best yet.
We arrange Ford Transit Connect finance for limited companies and sole traders across the UK, new and used. Here is what you need to know.
The Ford Transit Connect range
The current Transit Connect is the third generation of the model, launched in 2024 and built through Ford's partnership with Volkswagen, sharing its underpinnings with the VW Caddy. That means car-like driving manners and strong build quality, wrapped in Ford Pro's own styling, technology, and dealer network.
It comes in two lengths. The short wheelbase offers 3.1 cubic metres of load space and the long wheelbase takes that to 3.7 cubic metres, and both will swallow two Euro pallets. Payload runs to around 800kg depending on the version, with towing capacity up to 1,500kg, which is strong for a compact van. Diesel power comes from a 2.0-litre EcoBlue engine in 102 and 122PS outputs, with all-wheel drive available on the more powerful version, a rarity in this class that suits rural businesses and anyone working through the winter.
There is also a five-seat Kombi with a clever folding second row for businesses that carry a crew some days and cargo on others, and a FlexCab option with a moveable bulkhead that does a similar job. Whichever configuration suits your business, we can arrange the finance.
The Transit Connect plug-in hybrid
New to this generation is the first-ever Transit Connect PHEV. It pairs a 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with an electric motor and battery for a combined 150PS, and offers up to around 68 miles of electric-only range. That is enough to cover most urban working days on battery power alone, with the petrol engine there for longer runs, and it supports 50kW rapid charging, which is unusual for a plug-in hybrid.
For clarity, there is no fully electric Transit Connect. Ford covers the small electric van market with the E-Transit Courier, and we finance those too. But for businesses that want low-emission urban running without committing entirely to a battery, the Connect PHEV is a practical middle path, and its low CO2 figure brings tax advantages worth discussing with your accountant. Used Ford Transit Connect finance
The used Connect market is enormous, and it is where a great deal of the demand sits.
The previous-generation Connect sold in huge numbers between 2013 and 2023, so there is always a healthy supply of well-maintained used examples at sensible prices. Lenders see Connects every week, they are easy to value and easy to resell, and that familiarity makes used Connect finance straightforward to arrange. A van that is one to three years old often represents the best value, but older examples finance well too. Many of the lenders we work with will finance a Connect that is already eight or ten years old for a further two to three years, provided the mileage is sensible and the service history is complete.

Finance products available
Hire purchase
The most common product for Connect finance. You pay a deposit, spread the balance over an agreed term of typically 24 to 60 months, and own the van outright at the end. Predictable monthly payments, a clean capital allowance position, and no end-of-term complications.
Finance lease
Available with some lenders. Monthly rentals over the term with VAT added to each payment rather than paid upfront, and the van sold to a third party at the end. A balloon payment can be built in to reduce the monthly cost.

Finance for new and start-up businesses
New limited companies, recently incorporated businesses, and start-ups under two years old are all welcome to apply.
The Connect is one of the most common first vans for a new business. Its accessible pricing and easy resale make it a simple asset for lenders to say yes to. Without a lengthy trading history, lenders assess the application on the director's personal credit history, and a deposit is usually required. A clean personal profile on a sensibly priced Connect is often enough to secure an approval even for a business that has only just started trading.

Ford Transit Connect finance with bad credit
A difficult credit history does not prevent you from financing a Connect.
As a mainstream, easily resold van at an accessible price point, the Connect is one of the more straightforward assets to place when credit is a concern, and the modest finance amounts involved help too. Specialist lenders who look at the full picture rather than an automated score are more likely to consider an adverse credit application on a familiar van like this. A larger deposit and strong recent trading both improve the options.

Get pre-approved before you go shopping
A growing number of businesses come to us for pre-approval before they start looking at vans. It means you know exactly what you can borrow and at what rate, so you can negotiate the best price with any reputable dealer and move quickly when you find the right vehicle. Good used Connects sell fast, and being ready to proceed puts you in a much stronger position than a buyer still sorting out their finance.
Who can apply
Limited companies can typically borrow from £10,000. Most new Connects sit comfortably within mainstream lending parameters, and quality used examples are usually within reach too.
Sole trader finance is available from £25,000 on unregulated credit agreements. Given the Connect's accessible pricing, sole traders may find this threshold relevant, so it is worth a conversation about the right structure before you apply.
If you are not sure whether your business or the Connect you are looking at qualifies, the quickest thing to do is ask. We will give you a straight answer before anything is submitted.
